What do I do if my ESO character can't load into a zone?

Most issues related to loading into a new zone can be resolved by completely logging out of the game client and restarting your computer or console. If this does not resolve the issue, follow the troubleshooting steps below:

If playing PC/Mac, you can try changing your game's graphical settings:
  • Log into a secondary character.
  • Press [Esc] to bring up the options menu.
  • From that menu, select Graphic Options.
  • Under Presets select Low.
  • Log back into your main character to see if you can now enter the zone.
If playing on console, you can try deleting your game's save data:
  • To delete save data on the Xbox:
    1. From the Xbox Home Menu, navigate to My games & apps.
    2. Go to Games.
    3. Highlight The Elder Scrolls Online tile and press the [Menu] button of the controller.
    4. Select Manage Game. Highlight and select Save Data for the desired user.
    5. Select Delete
  • To delete save data on the PlayStation:
    1. From the PlayStation Dynamic Menu, navigate to Settings.
    2. Go to Application Saved Data.
    3. Click on Saved Data in System Storage
    4. Select "Delete"
    5. Select The Elder Scrolls Online.
    6. Place ticks next to ESO Save Data.
    7. Select [Delete] and then select [OK] to confirm your decision.
      • You can read further details on Deleting Save Data on PlayStation's website here.

Please be aware that deleting the save data will only reset your options settings and that no character data will be affected.
